Himeji Castle in Himeji, Japan

A grand illustration of conventional Japanese castle design, Himeji Castle was built within the mid-1500s and experienced numerous remodels and extensions. The beginnings of this castle date from 1333, when samurai warrior Akamatsu Norimura built a post on the best of this slope, called Himeyama. His child destroyed the post and modified it as Himeyama Castle in 1346. Two centuries afterward, it was essentially rebuilt to gotten to be Himeji Castle. Over the a long time, a few buildings were included as the complex changed hands. The castle indeed survived WWII unscathed whereas encompassing zones were bombarded. The staggering structure is known as the 'white egret castle' since of its brilliant white outside and likeness to a winged creature taking flight.
